About Us
CSAN AT A GLANCE
CSAN, formed in 1999 and formally registered with CAC in 2005 the sole affiliate member of AAPA (all African Pool Association) in Nigeria and automatically a member of the WPA (World Pool – Billiards Association). The objective of the pool body is to develop the game, increase its acceptance in the country and its national relevance, give hope to players and enthusiasts, and take the game to another level altogether by bringing together all stakeholders under the same umbrella.
Being a member of the world body, we use our position and opportunities to organize accredited competitions locally and ensure that the association members represent Nigeria in internationally organized pool, snooker, and billiard games and events.
This dream to further the sport (pool & snooker) has given rise to numerous competitions held by the Cue Sports Association dating back to 2000 and the most recently concluded tournament in December 2024 where the first price was a car and N1,000,000 (one million naira).
We can say statistically say that the game has grown by over 1000% in the last decade under CSAN (Cue sports Association of Nigeria). Lagos state has over 300 Pro pool players as against the handful of 20-30 players we had in 2005 when we started. This is a milestone achievement given we have had to do it with little or no help as the monthly competitions run every month changing locations to enable youths and other talented adults to take part in the competition and showcase their skills for the game.
